New wahid jacket with second hand wool fabric

I just finished a 2 day tunnel on a new wahid for myself.

It started with the grey/black fabric of the front, witch is a wool blend I found on a thrift store. Turn out it was full of holes so I had a lot less than I imagined so I used a different fabric for the back (a sattin cotton), and I choose to respect the grain so the front so I can’t put the whole piece on my coupon, so I put leather yoke with this lovely red leather. Red because the wool fabric has some fine red lines. It is lined with a linen sheet I had (white this time). And then when I cut the wool fabric I was so focus on avoiding the holes that I forgot to miror the pattern, which gives the 2 different looks of the front.

The pockets show a bit of the pocket bag, but it’s anyway my best welt pockets. The missing button is to high, I move it after the picture was made. The buttons are wood.

I didn’t made a mokup of the pattern so I had to cut the armholes larger on the fly but it endend great ^^

I will make better pictures and post it on the site (with my devon jacket that I forgot to show)

Hey, thanks for sharing a showcase :tada:

To (also) show this as a showcase on our main website, we’d like to make sure you’re cool with that first.

If you are, please add the showcase-on-website tag to your post as explained in the FAQ: How to mark a showcase post for inclusion on the FreeSewing website

If you do not add this tag, we will not include this on our main website.

Thanks for helping us curate our showcase library

PS: If you have already included the showcase-on-website tag, then please ignore this message. I am not currently smart enough to figure that out on my own :see_no_evil_monkey:

Also this project announce the dead of my main sewing machine (who was on probation since New year’s Eve) who have the electronic card I need to change plus the piece that connect the pedal to the card and I will cost me more than I’m willing to put on this machine. It was my grand mother’s.

Maybe one day, when I have place in my flat, I will try to convert it to a legs powered sewing machine, I would be a fun project ^^
