Jane 1790's Shift with deeper drawstring regency neckline

My first attempt at a Freesewing pattern after seeing the website shared multiple times on a few sewing Facebook pages I follow.

Thankyou so much for this site and the time and effort all the volunteers contribute to make it available for us.

As I’m making a regency outfit and had already tried making a regency shift from a purchased pattern but on which the shoulders were too wide, I thought I’d try the Jane shift.

I used the offered options to shorten the sleeve length and also the hem length. I cut the neckline much deeper so it will not show under my regency dress. Added a bias binding casing for a drawstring around the neckline to ensure it won’t fall off my shoulders.

Made in white 100% cotton.

Above: Happy with the completed item. Note shortened sleeves and drawstring around neckline, which is cut much deeper than the original Jane pattern.

Hey, thanks for sharing a showcase :tada:

To (also) show this as a showcase on our main website, we’d like to make sure you’re cool with that first.

If you are, please add the showcase-on-website tag to your post as explained in the FAQ: How to mark a showcase post for inclusion on the FreeSewing website

If you do not add this tag, we will not include this on our main website.

Thanks for helping us curate our showcase library

PS: If you have already included the showcase-on-website tag, then please ignore this message. I am not currently smart enough to figure that out on my own :see_no_evil_monkey:
