A lightly tweaked octopus

Since joining, I’ve been all talk. Until today. Here’s my newly finished octopus. It contains a couple of mistakes, which I won’t point out, and some deliberate changes, which are:

  • Eyebrow shape based on a cone instead of a cylinder
  • A more slot-like pupil shape
  • Eyes attached by poppers so that I can swivel them to horizontal (because apparently that’s a thing that cephalopods’ eyes do)
  • Back-of-head bulge
  • A couple of poppers near the end of each tentacle
  • Narrower ‘webbing/skirt’ wedges between tentacles

Hey, thanks for sharing a showcase :tada:

To (also) show this as a showcase on our main website, we’d like to make sure you’re cool with that first.

If you are, please add the showcase-on-website tag to your post as explained in the FAQ: How to mark a showcase post for inclusion on the FreeSewing website

If you do not add this tag, we will not include this on our main website.

Thanks for helping us curate our showcase library

PS: If you have already included the showcase-on-website tag, then please ignore this message. I am not currently smart enough to figure that out on my own :see_no_evil_monkey:

I like the tweaks you did! (Not that I don’t like the original.)

I know octopuses aren’t furry in real life, and yet it looks quite realistic to me… Well done!

This is amazing!
I would love to see more of your fantastic octopus. Can you show the ends of the tentacles please?

Here’s a view of the tentacle ends. (The octopus currently resides at my workplace.)
