Hey, I don’t work with darts much, and I’m still a beginning sewist, but I can’t for the life of me find the dart(s) on the Florent pattern. It’s mentioned in the instructions, but I don’t see them in my printout.
I even thought, maybe my big noggin is causing a problem with the pattern generation, so I created a new pattern using the Ghislain example measurements, and still no dart. I’ve tried with & without seam allowance.
Am I missing something? Thanks.
The actual dart exists only in the version where you cut 1 Top part on-the-fold. I’ve mocked-up an image showing what the part looks like, with the dart seam outlined in red:
For the version where you cut 2 Top parts mirrored, the same “dart” seam exists but doesn’t look like a dart. (Because you are sewing 2 separate pieces together, the “dart” is hidden in the seamline.)
Edit: Added: Perhaps the FreeSewing design could be improved by adding a “1 piece Top” design option? Enabling the option would add a cut-on-fold label and also remove seam allowance on the foldline.

And, yes, adding a “1 piece Top” design option with those changes would make it very clear. The instructions talk about 2 different design options, but the only Florent-specific option is head ease. Maybe it was removed?
Thanks to Quentin & Joost for creating Florent: I made a muslin/toile and it came out really well! It’s the first hat or cap I’ve had that really fits my big noggin well.
As a beginner sewist, I found the instructions more geared to an intermediate sewist (hence the 3-star difficulty rating). Rather than pester people here with a million questions, I found a video and a list of instructions that, combined with Florent, gave me the wonderful muslin/toile I have:
