That is not a problem, but it is something you should know.

User trust and roles
This forum is powered by Discourse which ships with a default trust system where users gradually build trust over time, and in doing so unlock more and more capabilities.
This trust system is baked-in as a way to combat spam. If you are new here and have not yet earned a lot of trust, that does not mean we don’t trust you, but merely that you are new to the forum system itself. Give it some time, and you will rise through the ranks automatically.
Whereas trust is a way to differentiate between users based on their activity on this forum, roles are a more formal system that grants certain users extra powers that allows them to help maintain this forum an prevent it being overrun by spammers or trolls.
The roles to know about are:
- patron: These are people who financially support FreeSewing through a subscription.
- supporter: These are people who have supported FreeSewing financially either through a one-time donation, or through a subscription that is no longer active.
- moderator: These are people tasked with combating spam and toxicity. It is not a glorious job, but an important one, so be kind to the moderators.
- admin: This is the person who is ultimately responsible, so you can blame them for everything that goes wrong. On this forum, that person is joost.
NOTE
There is no automatic link between financial support and role assignment.
If you are a patron or supporter who lacks the relevant role, please reach out ot joost.

Tags and what to use them for
While categories act like different boxes to put your posts in, tags can be assigned to any post to help with organizing, and finding relevant content.
Tags can be created by any user who rises to a certain trust level. Feel free to use them to make it easier for others to find interesting content.
There are a number of pre-created tags that are organized in tag groups:
designs
is a group holding a tag for each FreeSewing (pattern) design. Make sure to use these when your post is about one or more of our designs.packages
is a group holding a tag for each FreeSewing packages in our monorepo. Make sure to use these when your post is about one or more of our packages.plugins
is a group holding a tag for each FreeSewing plugin in our monorepo. Make sure to use these when your post is about one or more of our plugin.
As you can see, these tag groups are used to make it easier for designers, contributors, and maintainers to surface posts that are relevant to their expertise. So by using them correctly, you help us help you.
