Titan Block in Sewing Trousers Course

On Sunday I finished my first six week trousers course The Perfect Pair: Tailored Pants and my students did great! Check out the link to see some photos of finished trousers. We started with the Titan block, adapted to the desired fit/waistband height, drafted on darts, back welt pockets, front slant pockets, and a zipper fly. Everyone was super happy with the results.

It was certainly a challenging course to teach as fitting trousers takes some practice and patience. I was very happy to have a great starting point for them - the Titan block worked quite well.

In the course we also took all of the measurements on the FreeSewing site so that everyone can experiment with more patterns. One of the participants has already printed and started working on a Teagan t-shirt.

A big thank you to everyone who keeps the site running, provides the patterns and generally supports the custom drafting revolution here. I’m a true believer that this site represents the best of how we should be thinking about patterns, and that one day it will be the norm.
