This stupid cross seam error is killing me!

OOPS, I posted to the wrong discussion board before. Im messing up how to tag too, I cant make the right tag for my problem.

Hi all. Im hoping somebody can tell me what I’m doing wrong. I have gotten the

"We could not draw a cross seam curve using your measurements. Double check the inseam measurement and check that waist to seat, waist to upper leg, and the cross seam measurements use the same waist line."

while making my measurements set SO many times and I have double, triple, quadruple checked every single measurement countless times. Wtf. I’m close to giving up. There is another topic on the form similar to this but I have TRIED so many times. What the heck am I doing wrong??? Is this just a glitch due to my body being weird or what? How am I messing up the measurement?? I tied a string around my natural waist and everything.

Here is the set: Measurement Set | FreeSewing

Im so frustrated, please help D: Tysm

Is this for the measurements validation? If so, you can simply proceed.

When the tool indicates that it ‘could not draw’, that’s meant quite literally: the code isn’t smart enough (yet) to figure out what your cross seam looks like. In that case, it’s wise to double-check the relevant measurements (as you did). Once you’ve double-checked, it’s fair to assume that this is a tool issue, not a user issue, and you can proceed to use these measurements.

On the other hand, if there’s a particular design that’s giving an error like this (to my knowledge, they don’t), please share the specifics and we can figure it out.

(If you’re interested in knowing why this happens: FreeSewing uses a lot of measurements, and we try to make things so that they can work for any body shape. However, sometimes people make mistakes in their measurements and then we do want to give some kind of warning before someone ends up with trouser legs that are several meters/yards long…)

The measurement link you posted doesn’t work. Please set the measurement set to public and then post the public link if you want to share it.

Assuming you mean the error in the validator, that just means that the code is unable to draw a cross seam curve around your crotch with the given cross seam lengths while fitting to your waist, seat, inseam etc. Which can indicate a bad measurement, but the validator is by far not perfect. Just look at the image it draws. If e.g. the blue/red cross seam line it draws hangs way too low, that indicates your inseam measurement is too small. Or if the center of the cross seam pokes upwards, the inseam measurement might be too large. Or if the cross seam curve looks way to small or large, check the cross seam measurements.

You seam to have a problem on your waist to upper leg measurement. According to your measurements you have a 5inch long tight. If it is not this one (you may be having a 5inch long tight after all) maybe check the crotch depth and the inseam who might be too short.

The program try to put a 28" long inseam (waist to waist) who go 16" (your waist to upper leg measurement) down your waist. The maths aren’t mathing.
