Today I taught a course at my local sewing store in Austin, TX, USA on t-shirt making. I used the Teagan T-Shirt pattern, and the results were amazing. One of my students (pictured on the left) went home wearing the new t-shirt and his wife asked him where the t-shirt was that he made. The t-shirt looked so professionally finished that she didn’t even recognize that he made it, and he had never sewn at all before today. I just wanted to thank everyone who keeps FreeSewing running and working on the designs (Teagan in particular). I love that I am able to bring custom fit to my students and they don’t have to settle for commercial sizing. I have several more t-shirt courses left to teach, and I’m also teaching one this summer using the Charlie Chinos pattern.
In the photo I’m wearing the raglan version of the Teagan T-Shirt made out of old t-shirts that didn’t fit that well and some jersey scraps. It’s on my list to figure out how to contribute to the FreeSewing patterns, such as adding a raglan option or including the type of collar I like to use on t-shirts (not the standard ribbing or rectangle).
