Simone (Simon) Help setting sleeve

I’m building my first (of hopefully multiple) Simones. I just set the sleeve and have been having some issues, probably due to my inexperience with this type of seam. In spite of measuring and basting carefully, the final seam allowance ends up very uneven. I struggle with machine-stitching smooth curves.

  1. Anyone have helpful instructions, guides, tutorials, or videos on armhole seams?
  2. Should I rip it out and start over, or move on and keep v1 as a house shirt?

If you have enough seam allowance to flat fell those seams, I’d say finish it. If you don’t, I wouldn’t tear the whole seam out and restart, but I would resew any problematic areas a little further from the seam allowance to give myself some more wiggle room, back-tack really well at either end of the modifications, and tear out any stitches that came too close to the seam allowance.

Thanks! I got the sides sewn up and checked the fit to find additional problems with the sleeve length. So, happy happy sewing fail. Taking what I learned to v2 with re-checked measurements. I might experiment with making v1 sleeveless sometime later.
