About

  • FreeSewing’s bi-weekly hangout is an informal hangout/chat/meeting that is open to everyone.
  • The call is organized/hosted by @tangerineshark.
  • The call does not have a fixed structure or agenda items. Everyone is free to suggest agenda items, ask questions, or bring ideas.

  • Access to the Jitsi Meet meeting is via web browser.
  • Login is optional using your freesewing.eu account.
  • You can also just join the meeting as a guest.

The Jitsi Meet server is currently hosted on FreeSewing’s preview site. (This will change once the preview site is deployed to the main site.) But, for now:

  • If the hangout link doesn’t redirect automatically, you can use the direct link: https://preview.freesewing.eu/hangout
  • For a smoother experience, users might first want to visit https://preview.freesewing.eu and sign in before trying to access the hangout link.
  • If you experience errors signing into the preview site, please select the “Sign in as a different user” link and then try again. (Doing this clears stale cache data that might cause problems.)

Date: Saturday, September 12th, 2026, 4pm UTC, which can be found in your local time zone here.
Meetings are always at 6pm, Antwerp time.

Notes:

  • Automated lights, nightlights, GFCI electrical plugs.
  • Codeberg Issue #905 created: Only the last bookmarked Measurements Sets shows up when making a new pattern. None of the older ones show up.
  • Started making a new pair of pants.
    • Not sure if the extant paper pattern corresponds to the previously-made pair that fits.
    • There might have been changes made, not noted on the paper pattern?
  • Attending an October wedding wearing a dress that was made, loosely based on a FreeSewing pattern.
  • An alternative for those not into the Skully logo aesthetic?
    • Skully was made FreeSewing’s more piratey-themed days. Pirate terminology in the backend.
    • Perhaps a cute mascot? A macaw parrot dressed as a pirate, first mate to Captain Skully? Could be depicted doing activities like sewing, ironing, etc.
