Having only a A4 printer, cutting and pasting sheets was a bore. Having read articles and seen videos I was keen to try video projecting patterns. The issue was the cost of the video projectors.
However, looking around, I realised that video projecting patterns does no require expansive high quality projectors. What decided me was the low cost of native 4K hardware from China (around 100 euros on Aliexpress). I managed to buy for 65 euros a brand new 2nd hand Magcubic L018 from a disappointed gamer (too much lag for gaming). This projector has automatic keystone/focus that work like a charm. For the calibration, I used patternprojector.com, free and easy webapp with nice tutorials available on YouTube. I did not connect a computer but my Samsung tablet that connect easily with the projector through wifi with Transcreen Android free app.
Feedback: Amazingly easy with very satisfactory result. I will not use paper patterns any more. The most challenging part was to find the right spot for the projector and the ideal height

Oh i never considered projector patterns, even tho i ve used my monitor as well as lightboxes to trace stuff in the past…. And it must be sm better if u wanna change the pattern on a whim, you just adjust it on ur computer or whatever u use to send the pattern tot he projector. The only sucky thing is that u cant keep the patterns physically. Im a big physical guy…. But if u have a smaller space it s better…..

That’s very interesting! I don’t sew nearly enough to justify something like this but it’s good to know it exists.
