New (to me) Singer 99k

Yesterday I picked up a vintage Singer 99k second hand for the bargain price of £30 and I’m over the moon with the condition it’s in. Needs a bit of a clean and oil and a new cable. Otherwise ready to go, operated by a knee bar

Thank you. I’ll share some pictures once I’ve cleaned it up and got it working.

So I keep hearing. I’m looking forward to using it.

I replaced the power cable today, took off the broken light and mounted the new one. I can’t connect it until I can get to my storage unit to get a couple of ring crimps. I’ve cleaned out some of the bobbin housing and oiled it all. Just waiting on a new belt and I should be ready to use.

I’ve cleaned it up a little and oiled everything. Also swapped it out to a hand crank to fit better in the space I normally sew in (the knee bar made it difficult to sit in the best position due to space restrictions).

I’m delighted with how smooth it is to use and how nicely it sews.
