Jumpsuit/overall/boilersuit

I want to make a denim overall with lining, like a farming overall but a little more refined, I could not find a long sleeve overall in the freesewing website, now i am thinking about combining the Devon pattern with a pants pattern, but I am in doubt how i am going to have the same cerconferance on the part were they join.

Hello and welcome to freesewing!

Did you check Onyx as a starting point? It can have long sleeves as well as long legs but is designed for stretchy fabric …

hm, i am not sure about using Onyx. The pattern is really meant for stretchy fabric.

Devon or Simon are good for the upper part, Cornelius, Charlie or even Opal for trousers. Choose one were you can see the relative position of the waistband to the “natural waist” so you can can know how low you need to go with the upper parts.

In Simon you can see this very nice:

catching the circumference is actually not that difficult, you normally match the upper part to the lower. Normally you make it a little bit more narrow than it is for a jacket or shirt.

With Devon you change the lower parts.

I think your idea is for sure doable albeit it ask for some patience. Don’t forget that the process of trial and error also includes errors

thank you for the explanation. I discovered the documentation page for the patterns. the onyx looks like it has short sleeves, but now I know how to make them longer. I didn’t dear to do this by myself because this is going to be my first project and I wanted to keep it simple. so connecting two pieces together is a thing that I didn’t daer to take on as well at this moment.
