How to more fully customize features of a pattern?

Hey I’m very new to this site and almost entirely uninitiated when it comes to making designs, let alone using a sewing machine :sweat_smile:

I can’t help but notice that there is only one public design template available that remotely resembles a “dress”, which is the ‘Jane 1790s shift’.

How do I add sleeves and other features and customize the shape of the neckline?

P.S.: Yes, I’ve already painstakingly taken ALL of my body measurements and saved them into a set.

I believe there are other dress designs in the works. But the work around for a few of us has been to combine one of the skirt patterns (typically sandy) with a top pattern.

I made a dress last year for my daughter combining Sandy with a t-shirt pattern from another company which I modified to use woven fabric instead of knit. There’s another example on the site of someone else using Sandy and Simone to make a shirt dress.
