Hi, I created my first pattern and it was a total failure. Some pieces came out way too small, and the measurements I uploaded don’t seem to work because it was a truly awful experience. I’d like to know how to improve my practice on the website.
Can you be a bit more specific about what you’ve tried and what kind of errors you’ve faced?
One way to get accurate measurements is to have a friend take the measurements while you stand still. There are reference images for every measurement, if you’re unsure what it’s asking for. Even when I think I’m sure, I check the images, because some terminology on FS is different from the terms I learned when I learned to sew
Another thing to check is that the units on the site match the units you’re using to measure. If you measured in inches but the site thought you were using centimeters, then it will generate patterns that are too small
