Agenda

  • TBD

I am travelling and it looks like I’ll be in the air during the call.

I have been making efforts to ipen up the FreeSewing infrastructure with an eye on getting people with an interest in that sort if stuff involved.

We also now have a few people who are helping out with support questions so that’s wlso nice.

It’s a work in progress, and with some people choosing to hide stuff in light of all the AI vulnerability hunting, it’s seems to be stubbornly going against the grain, but it’s what I think needs to happen to address the bottlenecks mentioned in our most recent newsletter.

If anyone has ideas how we can get more people involved, I’m happy to hear them.

Notes:

  • The FreeSewing infrastructure/backend code has been open sourced and made public.
  • It’s a continuation of the effort to spread out the work of running FreeSewing, so Joost doesn’t have to do it all.
  • Sewing machines for sewing heavy material.
  • Collecting sewing machines. Fixing old sewing machines. Getting replacement parts.
  • Do any FreeSewing pattern designers use pattern envelope charts? Tissue pattern sewists.
  • New sewists have difficulty taking measurements.
  • New sewists aren’t able to view a line drawing and gain needed information about the pattern.
  • FreeSewing has 2 audiences: 1. tissue pattern sewists; 2. crafters and DIYers. Creating learning materials.
