The call does not have a fixed structure or agenda items. Everyone is free to suggest agenda items, ask questions, or bring ideas.

September 27, 2025 Community Call

Notes:

  • Ideas on how to provide access to patterns for testing.
    • Netlify, does it still work? Vercel, does it still work? Gitpod, yes but it takes some work to get it set up.
    • All those options require the pattern developer to manually spin up the instance. Vili is looking into a set-and-forget solution.
  • FreeSewing version 4.3 packages have been published, but version 4.3 hasn’t yet been deployed on the website.
  • FreeSewing will be changing web hosting providers to save on bandwidth costs. 4.3 will be released after.
  • Sasha skater dress and Percy pants were merged.
  • Adding an Upper Leg measurement for Titan.
    • Inheriting designs: Charlie, Paco, Percy, and unreleased Paul. They would also be modified to use the new measurement.
  • Dye fixative is effective in preventing dye rinse-out.
  • Dental issues.
    • Toothpaste and orange juice, sodium lauryl sulfate.
  • Chocolate.
  • Silhouette studio can do some things that Inkscape cannot. Plotters and cutters. Cricket machines.
  • University policies for designating arts or sciences for academic programs. Polcies for majors and minors.
