The call is organized/hosted by @tangerineshark.
The call does not have a fixed structure or agenda items. Everyone is free to suggest agenda items, ask questions, or bring ideas.

August 2, 2025 Community Call

Notes:

  • Updates on Projects:
    • Jett bomber jacket: pretty much done.
    • Percy puffy pants: working on the pattern.
    • Gale skirt with godet: done waiting for a patch.
    • Sunny split-side skirt: ready to go.
    • Polly plush: work continues on the pattern.
    • A new skirt pattern is upcoming.
  • Lexander will be giving a talk about FreeSewing at the upcoming WHY 2025 Hacker camp.
  • 3D modeling. Blender. Plugins: 3D print, measure it.
  • Scanners that can scan in persons/bodies.
  • 3D printers.
  • Removing individual elements from an SVG file from Blender/Plushify, using an SVG viewer not Inkscape.
  • Will try to test new designs with PRs submitted.
  • Back from vacation, no sewing done.
  • Son wants a giant Snorlax plushy. Stretch velvet fabric hard to work with? Not easy but very possible.
  • Wanting to adapt Brian, Noble, and Simon to make dresses.
  • Intending to make bags using an old yoga mat foam as padding/structure. Enclosing the foam in fabric cases, and sew the cases not the fabric.
  • Getting an industrial sewing machine next month to reupholster a couch. Need to get a table, knee lift, and motor.
