DEVON Jean jacket

Hello, I’d like to talk to those who have made the Devon Jeans Jacket. If I took my measurements correctly, can I sew with confidence? Or do you recommend a mock-up? And where can I see more makes? BTW, Newbie here!

It’s generally recommended to always make a mock-up of any garment you make to ensure it fits correctly. Not just designs on FreeSewing, but any pattern you use.

Any cheap cotton should work for checking fit.

Definitely make a muslin (try-out version) first. Specially if you have no experience with FreeSewing patterns. We try to describe how to take each individual measurement correctly, but there’s still a good chance you got something wrong. And even with the correct measurements, I could have coded something incorrectly. So before you cut into your favorite fabric, make one out of a bedsheet first. Only make one arm, and leave out any embellishments (pocket flap, facings), although they may be useful for you to make sure you understand how to sew it all together.

PS. Make sure you add seam allowance (core settings menu).
