Body mesurements question paco pants

Hello, everyone!

I tried to make the paco pants, so i entered all my mesurements and printed out the custom pattern and started working.

when I got to sewing both legs together, i tried to wear one leg, and realized that my foot did not even pass trough the the tube all the way.

so my question is, in the body mesurements, should i add inches to have the pattern big enough to fit me entirely? i noticed the whole thing seemed to small, as if i was sewing a garnment that should sit flush on the skin, as if it was supposed to be sown with elastic fabric, to have a chance to fit.

pattern generation did not let me enough give to put on the garnment.

im using fabric that isnt elastic.

so, the solution is to add an inch or two to all mesurements?

thank you for your help!

The pattern includes 5% ease for both heel and seat by default, but you can adjust those values.

Did you check the scale of the print? Also, can you compare the printed dimensions to (some of) those shown when you enable ‘paperless’? It seems likely that something is off here.

(Finally, just in case: are your units set to inches or centimeters?)

Thank you, yes, i didn’t mesure the heel mesurment correctly, is should now be able to make a sample with fabric now. I have a lot to learn! haha

wery happy this website and community exist!

I’d add a warning about seam allowance - did you choose the one you wanted to use? Did you record that choice so you sewed the same one for sure :-)? This is a common cause of ‘wrong’ sizing too.
But on the whole, if you look at some pattern pieces and they just scream ‘wrong’ to you, it’s worth doing some checks before you cut. Unless your sizing/shape is way off the ‘standards’ (which we hope to accomodate here), a custom pattern isn’t going to look that different
