Howdy! I’m planning a few different pants projects, and would REALLY love to make a pair of barrel leg pants. Does anyone have thoughts on how I could modify the Paco to a barrel shape? My best idea is to download a regular Paco pattern and modify it in Inkscape or similar, but if there’s a good way to mess around with the leg shape right in the freesewing interface, I’d prefer to do that!
To be honest, I usually edit the shapes of patterns directly on the paper, since I can hold it up and wrap it around my body to check that I’m doing what will result in the right silhouette, and not just going off what ‘should’ give me the right silhouette. Sometimes I do it at 1/4 scale, since you can download a non-tiled version of the pattern and then scale it down in whatever vector program you prefer, and print it off to mess around with it in three dimensional space but at a more manageable scale while you figure out what’s gonna work
When I do edit things digitally, I use the old Affinity Designer to edit, since Inkscape has crashed on me far too many times for me to trust it
